Other than the culture and art of Sirigu and SWOPA itself, SWOPA provides a convenient hub to explore the expansive and beautiful upper-east of Ghana.
Upon request, SWOPA staff can take you to local tourist sites, such as the Paga crocodile ponds (home of the friendliest crocodiles in the world – supposedly descendants of the royal family!)
The Tongo Hills (a sweeping unique landscape, home to the Tengzug shrine and village)...
...and Bolgatanga itself, a bustling city with a large market where you can stock up before venturing back out into the rural heart of the area!
